Hamilton Beach 18 qt Roaster Oven? I have a Hamilton Beach 18 qt Roaster Oven. I am making a turkey for dinner tonight. I placed the Turkey in it with butter and salt pepper onion and garlic. I also placed about 4 cups of water in the bottom of the roaster we will not be making gravy we have jarred gravy because my father in law loves it. My question is: Do you think that its to much water? Is is not enough water? Did it even need water? My husband said no water was he right. Please let me know what you think I should do. Dinner is at 5pm thanks to everyone for the answers.

stl_aer replied: "Water in the bottom of the roaster will steam the turkey rather than dry bake it, particularly when you leave the lid on the roaster. I wouldn't say it's wrong though. It will probably keep the turkey moist."

Steph replied: "Either way works."

badwarden replied: "Quick Roast Turkey Recipes For: Roaster Ovens Recipe Type: Meals Yield: 6-8 Servings 14-15 pound turkey, fresh or totally thawed 1 onion, peeled and cut in half 1 stalk celery Salt and pepper The roaster oven cooks a turkey in half the time of a regular oven, but use a meat thermometer to make sure your turkey is thoroughly cooked. The roaster oven does NOT brown a turkey. The constant dripping of condensation from the cover of the roaster oven prevents the turkey from browning. Use the roaster oven if you plan to serve the turkey sliced, rather than presenting the whole turkey at the dinner table. Remove the rack. Pour 1/2 cup water into the insert pan, cover and preheat to 325 degrees. Remove giblets and neck from cavities of turkey. Set aside and use for giblet gravy. Rinse bird inside and out with cold water. Place onion and celery inside turkey. Rub outside with salt and pepper. Place on rack. Brush whole turkey with butter. Place in roaster and cook 1&1/2 to 2 hours. Check meat thermometer reading. Turkey is done when thermometer registers 180 degrees. Always thaw a frozen turkey in the refrigerator, not at room temperature. A 12-15 pound frozen turkey will take 2-3 days to thaw in the refrigerator. If pressed for time, this size turkey can be thawed in cold water in 6-9 hours. Be sure to change the water often. Hope this helps.."

What are your favorite recipes to cook on your contact grill or George Foreman grill? Do you use frozen food? I just bought a Hamilton Beach contact grill on clearance at Walmart Saturday for $25 ($45 reg., Great deal!) I made a hamburger and grilled the peppers, onions and mushrooms with it. Then last night I grilled Shrimp with Garlic & Olive oil. They were GREAT! But I would like some other easy ideas. Has anyone ever used frozen chicken breast (boneless) with any success?

Kelly R replied: "I have a George Foreman grill and I couldn't live without it now that I have it. I half defrosted the chicken first. I also sliced it really thin to make chicken breast burgers. Capsicum and eggplant, sliced zucchini grill well too. I did this for a vegetable lasagne. Steak cooks really well on it too. Get some Vienna bread and grill it, once grilled rub with a cut garlic clove and top with a mix of red onion, tomato, fresh basil and balsamic vinegar. Drizzle with a really good olive oil and there you have a fantastic healthy bruschetta. E-mail me if you want to exchange other ideas for the grill."

Toni B replied: "I do the frozen chicken all of the time. To give it a headstart on the thaw process though I will spinkle both sides with salt. Or I will pull it out and place it on a metal cookie sheet. Althouth it is still frozen it will not be frozen solid. You just have to watch the breast so that the outside is not overdone and the inside is undercooked. Usually I will pull out the chicken and place on cookie sheets and sprinlkle with my seasonings. I will then go and change from work, then come back into the kitchen and start prepping everthing else and then by this time I am ready to get the chicken on the grill. It has had about a 30 minute partial thaw time. Do not try this with steak. You will end up having a steak that is overcooked especially if you like rare or medium rare steaks. I also grill my veggies and make some awesome grilled cheese sandwiches. Bratwurst, italian sausage links work well too. And hot dogs. For my grilled cheese I will spread some garlic herb cream cheese on the bread then take one slice of each of several cheese and put the sandwich together and place on the grill WITH NO BUTTER ON THE BREAD!!!! You can also do panini sandwiches too. For my veggies, I will slice them think if need be and then toss them with olive oil and then grill them. I will then sprinkle salt and pepper to taste on them. This works best with asparagus, zucchini, squash and even potatoes. However the potatoes to take longer and you want to make sure that you cut them thick enough that both the upper and lower portion of the grill are touching you food. Best of all the clean up is a snap.... Good Luck...."

chris w replied: "Grilled Lemon Pepper Chicken (George Foreman Grill) recipe Posted by bettyboop at recipegoldmine.com 1/3/2002 8:54 am 1 cup Italian dressing (I use Ken's Fat Free Italian) 2/3 cup powdered lemonade-flavored drink mix 2 1/2 teaspoons black pepper 6 boned and skinned chicken breast halves In a medium bowl, combine the dressing, lemonade mix, and pepper. Add the chicken, cover, and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours or overnight. Heat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the chicken on the grill, discarding the excess marinade. Grill the chicken for 12 to 15 minutes, or until no pink remains, turning the breasts halfway through the grilling. Mustard-Grilled Pork Chops with Two Tomato Salsa (George Foreman Grill) recipe Posted by bettyboop at recipegoldmine.com 1/3/2002 8:53 am This recipe works well on the George Foreman grill as well as an outdoor grill. If using the George, grill for approximately 5-6 minutes. 4 (3/4-inch thick) boneless pork chops 1 1/2 cups diced plum tomatoes 8 sun-dried tomato halves packed in oil, drained and chopped 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil or 1 tablespoon dried basil 1/4 teaspoon cayenne 2 tablespoons Dijon-style mustard 1 tablespoon honey 1 teaspoon minced garlic Fresh basil sprigs (optional) In a medium bowl combine plum tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, chopped basil and cayenne; set aside. In a small bowl combine mustard, honey and garlic. Rub mustard mixture over all surfaces of chops. Place chops on a kettle-style grill directly over medium-hot coals, lower grill hood and grill for 3 to 4 minutes. Turn chops and grill for 3 to 4 minutes more or until chops are just done. Serve with Two-Tomato Salsa. If desired, garnish with basil sprigs. Servings: 4 I really like pork with mustard - it keeps it moist."

GingerGirl replied: "I use frozen chicken breasts all the time on my George Foreman grill and they turn out great every time. I love the convience of it - especially if I haven't taken meat out in the morning so I don't have to wait to thaw anything out. The chicken breasts always come out tender and never dry out. I just sprinkle some rosemary seasoning or lemom pepper on them and supper is ready in about 10 minutes!"

Aubrey replied: "I almost always do my chicken breasts on the foreman! Its a lifesaver! I either use the chicken for fajitas, chicken alfredo, in salads, or just the breast alone with lemon pepper. Just let the chicken thaw out first and season it the way you want it. You may even be able to find pre-seasoned chicken breasts...Where I shop they offer both italian style and lemon herb ready to go! Happy grilling!"

Is this coup of Bush's the same "Business Plot" coup attempt of 1933 that involved Prescott Bush? It still sounds like Paulson is asking to be a financial dictator, for a limited period of time. Look at this warning provided by Frank Razzano, a former assistant chief trial attorney at the Securities and Exchange Commission now at Pepper Hamilton LLP in Washington, who stated that the Bush administration is seeking dictatorial power unreviewable by the third branch of government, the courts, to try to resolve the crisis. The current manufactured crisis is the same as the now infamous Business Plot of 1933, a previous attempt at an outright coup in order to install fascism in America. This treasonous plot was so called because the high-level plotters, including Prescott Bush, the current presidents grandfather, were Wall Street men who openly supported fascism. The coup attempt came to light one year later in 1934, when General Smedley Butler informed the Congress that a group of wealthy industrialists had attempted to side with high ranking military figures in order to overthrow the government of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. It seems this time around, the Bush family is trying the more subtle approach to open bloodshed: first create a crisis, then under the guise of addressing that crisis, overthrow democracy. Yes, it does sound terribly conspiracy-theory-esque when explained just this way. But what else does one call a criminal conspiracy to destroy Congressional powers permanently, alter Judicial powers permanently, and steal public funds? Impeachment has to be brought against those members of the government involved in the New Business Plot. Failing this, people will have to take to the streets to prevent the usurpation of their freedoms and the total dissolution of America:

William F replied: "Thank you for paying attention."

lobotomyzd replied: "Well done. Someone knows their history."

Romare replied: "I agree. I not only think this is the "October surprise" that people are always looking for before a presidential election, I also think it is a way of figuratively assassinating Obama so that if he is elected he will not be able to enact any of his ideas like universal health care."

What Do you think of this as a snack? Start with the square sliced bagel bread, top it with your choice of sauce( alfredo, pasta, pizza), thawed grilled chicken pieces, mild peppers, diced onions and some shredded provolone or mozzarella. Stick it in a toaster oven for a full toast cycle 5 on a Hamilton Beach. use each half of the bagel by the way( like french bread pizza)

sybil_the_soothsayer replied: "Sounds good but stand there and watch it in the oven so you don't burn it..."

BlueSea replied: "Sounds like a normal, common everyday snack. My kids used to make that on English Muffins. Yum!!"

chefgrille replied: "Sounds excellent to me! I'd mix some pesto into the alfredo sauce. Mmmm. Pesto pizza is always good."

Tee D replied: "Sounds Delicios So when u coming to make me dinner??"

stephen k replied: "That's more of a lunch, but it's tasty"

cope_acetic@yahoo.com replied: "Pound it to flatten & tenderize it. Then roll up some prepared stuffing in it & secure with string or toothpicks. Brown on all sides, then cover with cream of mushroom soup (don't add water), cover, and simmer very low for 20-30 minutes. Turn occasionally to prevent burning. OR--roll up with onions and mushrooms, cook in tomato or spaghetti sauce, and top with shredded mozzarella before serving. OR--cut in serving size pieces, tenderize, dredge in seasoned flour, and make chicken-fried steak. Serve with country gravy (you can buy envelope mixes if you don't know how). Flank steak is tough--can't you get some chuck steak or roast? It's more versatile."

Music similar to Anthony Hamtilon's "You Don't Know"? Hi, I love funk blended music. The Red Hot Chili Pepper's Blood Sugar Sex Magic album is one of my favorite albums... one I will never forget. The rock/funk blend sounds awesome to me. I've recently become a huge Anthony Hamilton fan as well. I'm looking for more music similar to his song "You Don't Know". Although it's not really as funky as it could be, it's close enough to earn a top spot on my iPod. If you could possibly recommend other artists similar to Anthony Hamilton at all, that would be nice too. thanks!!

Elicia replied: "go to Pandora.com and make a radio station for Anthony hamilton and the station will then play other artistes like him."

where can i find small coffee grinder? Can someeone help me find a small and cheap coffee grinder, like costing around 9 to 19 Dollars. I just need it to be reliable. PS: I need these grinders to grind herbs like black pepper, cardamon seeds, poppy seeds, fenugreek seeds....all which are less harder than coffee beans. Correction: Taute rez: y spend so much *online* Ami D: do u mean the one like a pepper mill that comes along with the salt shaker? No thats not what i intend to use.Note that i need a grinder here not something manual.*Indian spices cannot be ground by hand!!!*
